Parental/Carer Support

Research shows that children learn better when their parents/carers are involved.

Our rota system involves all parents/carers in the group on a regular basis. This helps to maintain the high ratio of adults to children in our pre-school, guaranteeing individual care and attention for each child. It also give parents/carers the opportunity to take part in the group, to see what happens there and to talk about it afterwards with their child, as well as discuss their child’s progress with their key worker. Children can also see their own parents/carers in a new role.

The pre-school policy is to have two parents/carers helping per session, therefore parents/carers are asked to do a minimum of two sessions per term.

So that the parent/carer can help on a day suitable to them, a list is posted on the Notice Board before the end of every half term in preparation for the following term. This allows you to choose and plan in advance when you can help.
